In a thunder of footsteps, fitness enthusiasts and charity supporters will be returning to Banyan Tree Bangkok on Sunday 28th September for the 10th Vertical Marathon, where the finishing point for the race is at Vertigo on the 61st floor The challenge of running up 1,093 steps attracts participants of all ages and the time to beat is 6 minutes and 16 seconds, previously achieved by Boonchoo Jandacha.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the “HIV Formula Feeding Fund”, a Thai Red Cross initiative under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali. The small registration fee of Baht 350 per person includes the official marathon t-shirt. In addition, trophies from HRH Princess Soamsawali, luxurious accommodation and gift certificates are also up for grabs for the winners. Help us to support HIV patients, by registering to participate in the marathon or just coming along to watch. We are aiming to beat last year’s total of Baht 515,000.

Rules and Regulations
- The race start time is 8.00 a.m. sharp (registration starts at 6.00 a.m. and closes at 7.00 a.m. Late registration will not be permitted.
- Runners will be flagged off in groups of 10 at intervals of 2 minutes
- During the team relay race, team members have to hold a chip used for timing and pass it onto the next team member on specified floors.
- The floors for passing the chip to the next team member are the 14th, 29th and 45th floors respectively.
- Service areas & First Aid points are available every 6 floors and Judges are on standby during the race.
- Runners must keep to the right by the handrail when running. Overtaking or stopping for a rest must be done on the left side.
- Upon completion of the race, runners will be escorted back to the ground level by elevator.
- Runners who complete all 61 storeys will receive a medal and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place holders from each category will also receive Certificate of Achievement.
- Runners shall abide by any instructions given by the officials before, during and after the race. Failure to do so, or to comply with any of the above rules, regulations & guidelines, shall render a runner liable for disqualification
- The decision of the judges will be final.
- Lose of the microchip will result in a Baht 500.- fine.
