Uta
Scholz (Myanmar):
hi
ttr team,
thanks for the fast reply about the fotos.
I enjoyed the run very much (my first half
marathon), everything was so well prepared
and organized.
Thank you for this great day, see you definitely next year again.
Karel
Ungr (Thailand):
Hello Raimund,
Thank you so much for your efforts in organizing the Thailand Temple Run, and
also for your superb care of the runners.
The run was a truly fantastic event, the marathon being a memorable experience,
well beyond my expectations.
The pre-race trip on Saturday was not only highly enjoyable, but above all, of
great benefit to the runners.
I am sorry to have missed your post-race dinner on Sunday night, but I was not
quite ready for a big feast so soon after the race.
I look forward to taking part again next year.

Peace Morse (USA):
Dear Raimund,
I write in the hope you will be able to post this letter
on your website so other "farangs" considerating the
Thailand Temple Run will have the benefit of my review. Thank
you for the extraordinary job you did in organizing this
event.
The Thailand Temple Run proved extraordinary and I would
travel 8,000 miles and 30 degrees of latitude to do it
all over again. Think carefully before deciding
to compete in the race. The heat, humidity and
air quality make for a very demanding day. The
race organizers and medical director do a superior job
of making sure the race is safe but if you are obsessed
about finishing times then this event probably isn't
for you.
I strongly encourage you to spend time in country and
not in Bangkok before the race. This will help
you with acclimatization and leave you witha more agreeable
picture of Thailand. Carrying my own electrolyte
drink really helped. I didn't bring hat but I would
fill it with ice if I was to compete in Thailand again.
If you, like me, prefer an authentic experience and have
reservations about booking the package then I ask you
to consider how much easier you life will be if you allow
the organizers to coordinate your travel, room and board
for a couple of days. The other races will be very
interesting folks--you'll enjoy talking with them and
the Amari does a lovely breakfast and the best pre-race
pasta dinner I've eaten. They have an Italian chef. Trust
me, you won't feel like finding street vendors after
the race. Even if you decide to back pack and eat
20 Bht sticky rice the rest of your trip, you'll be glad
you signed up for the whole package.
This was my first marathon. I've competed in lots of
shorter running races and keep a busy calendar of triathlons. I've
planned, volunteered and supported races, competed in
sloppy events and raced in beautifully organized competitions. The
Thailand Temple Run is a superior race in every respect.

Your email has just prompted me to do something I
was meaning to do anyway, which was to write and thank
you for a very well organized and enjoyable event.
I was part of the "Matthew Chapman" party that flew in
from Singapore and can't speak highly enough on the smoothness
and efficiency with which everything was organized for
us. Whether it was the transport too and from our
hotel to the race site, from the hotel to the airport,
the registration pack that was waiting for us with the
transport or the packed breakfast, it was all very much
appreciated and very well organized.
As for the race itself, again we were just as impressed.
I personally thought that the course was well signed
and marshaled and the facilities after the race were
just as good.
All in all, a very impressive event. I wish you guys
all the best of luck for future races and if I'm still
in South East Asia I will no doubt come and join again.

Raimund,
I want to tell you how much I enjoyed running the Thailand Temple Run.
You helped making my first marathon a great experience. I was
devastated when the Bali Marathon was cancelled after all the training,
but you were such a big help in getting information to me about the
Temple Run. Everyone helped me out, from making my entry on
the Friday before to helping me make my hotel arrangements. What
amazed me was not just your help, but everone I came into contact
associated with the race ready to go the extra mile. I appreciate
all including Woflgang and John as well as a lady I didn't receive
her name who helped me get my trophy right after the race so that
I could catch my plane. She not only did that but had already
taken action to go find the driver of the car to come to get my luggage
so that I wouldn't have to carry it.
I have also helped put on races and I am currently working on our
club's annual 5k run, so I know the tremendous amount of work involved.
That everyone went so smoothly was a real credit to you and
your committee. I have already sent a note to Kathly Loper of
Kathy Loper events praising your run as well.
Thanks again for a great day.

Overall a fantastic experience! Thank you so much for organizing
such a wonderful race in a spectacular part of the world. I pray
I can make it again next year.
Samantha

Dear Race Organizers,
I would personally like to thank Raimund
and Mattie for their assistance and
customer service in arranging such
a great weekend away and run. We
came up from Singapore and received
first class service. The run was also
excellent (made better by the great
times of all in our group of 7). Something
a bit different and great scenery.
The run was awesome, the organization
was excellent - I hope to be back again
next year. Perhaps more info
on any other runs organized by the
same or similar people in the same
or similar ways.
Stephen
Magor (Thailand):
Guys you did a terrific job and one that I wil live for the rest of
my life...see you in 2005.
Yvonne
De Niese (Canada):
The Thailand Temple Run was my most favourite marathon I've ever done.
The Honolulu Marathon was my first marathon and living in Calgary
I've completed two of those marathons. The Temple Run was organized
extremely well, and they provided us the best aid stations, having the
fresh fruit was most appreciated, needless to say the entertainment
along the way was an extremely nice distraction, not to mention very
nice. I have recommended this run to my one friend who loves
to run marathons. Unfortunately, I will not be making it to Thailand
for quite some time, as that was my second trip there, my boyfriend
and I decided to try paying a visit somewhere else. Thailand will
ALWAYS be my favourite vacation destination. The run will hold
a very special memory for me, as I had the pleasure of running with
a 72 year old Thai gentleman (who might I say beat me to the finish
line), among some other people from other parts of the world. I
love the medal, Wow! very beautiful. Thanks again for a very memorable
run and a wonderful time.
Graham
Alan Jelley (Taiwan):
Don't stop, you have a good race on your hands and will always have Runners
attend. Only one point from me - you spelt my family name incorrectly
- it is JELLEY. If you could correct this it would make me happy.
Keven
Newman (USA):
A great job folks! Truly one of the best organized events out of
my 35 marathons! The dinners and the hotel were very enjoyable!
Thank you!
Angela
Brenner (Singapore):
We flew in from Singapore had a great time. The organization
was superb. Very helpful people and very organized event. Thanks :)
Clifford
Schaeferskuepper (Germany):
It's a fantastic race in one of the world's most beautiful
countries and with fantastic people. An experience
no runner should miss. Additionally a world class organization
that does not have to hide behind other big races.
Thanks for a great race and a really great experience. It
definitely topped my expectations. I certainly can
and will recommend the race to other runners. I hope
that the next year race will have more runners, both farangs
and Thais. Good luck for the future and I hope to see
you again next year.
Lasse
Leppanen (Finland):
Great run and well organized even though it was only
the 3rd race. I'll choose Temple Run in future instead
of Singapore Marathon. Excellent service through
the web site: info, registration and results. I
sponsored a customer with me, ran faster than him and
still he was excited and wants to come with me next
year!!! Well done folks. Keep up the good
work at 2005 run!
Edward
Lyell (USA):
This was my 7th Marathon and I must say it was the best!
From the moment I signed up for the Marathon till I returned
home I was treated like a king. Go Thailand Tours always
responded to all of my requests and provided the highest
customer service. The pre-race tour, lunch and course
inspection with our race director was outstanding and
was a great time to meet with runners from all over the
world. Never have I been to a awsome pasta party where
each plate of pasta is hand made by the chef. Also a
great presentation by our Eco-Marathoner. The 1630 Race
Start time for the Marathon was great. Though at the
start I thought I was going to die from heat stroke by
the end of the Marathon I was quite cool and thought
I could run forever. As nearly the last runner throughout
the Marathon I was treated to aid stations that were
fully stocked and crew members always happy to cheer
me on. Thais Marathon supports Back of the Packers like
myself. Thai-German Solar did a great job with those
little globes that kept me going troughout the night.
The spectators,Dogs, bands, Police, Fire and Saftey Personnel
all provided great motivation. Nothing was more cool
than to have the Race Director riding a Bike checking
on my progress and informing my wife at the finish that
I was still alive. Overall I feel that this was a great
Marathon that I would recommend to anyone who would like
to spend a few days with people who treat you like family.
And if I could finish this Marathon and make it to the
post race party, You too can do it. See You in 2006!

Heathcote (England):
